The Biomedical Movement is a parent-driven crusade that is based on evidence that Autism is a treatable disease, indeed Autism is reversible.[2][3][4][5] Key opponents of the Biomedical Movement include government organizations, large pharmaceutical corporations, and mainstream medical professionals who generally dismiss parental concerns.[6][7][8][9]
I wanted Dr. Hyman to see how well Miles was doing, so I sent her a video of him playing with his father and sister. She called right away. "I'm simply floored," she told me. "Miles has improved remarkably. Karyn, if I hadn't diagnosed him myself, I wouldn't have believed that he was the same child."[10]

Early History
Bernard Rimland, Ph.D. was a research psychologist, writer, lecturer, and advocate for children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and mental retardation. [11] Dr. Rimland's groundbreaking work on autism was inspired by the birth of his own autistic son Mark in 1956.[5]
The Autism Research Institute (ARI) was founded by Dr. Bernard Rimland in 1967.[3] The Autism Research Institute (ARI) is a non-profit organization that has devoted its work to conducting research, and to disseminating the results of research, on the triggers of autism and on methods of diagnosing and treating autism. ARI has provided research-based information to parents and professionals around the world for more than 40 years.[3]
